It's been a cold, snowy winter and yes, we know there's still a bit more snow and cold to go thru, but still. . . a week from today, The Farm reopens for the 2014 season! So we're getting closer to the spring that we're all in a fever about :)

It's 2014?!?
Welcome 2014! Seems like we're all saying "where did the time go?" A big thank you to all our visitors who made 2013such a good year. We hope your holidays were wonderful and wish you all happiness for the coming new year.
The shop is closed for the winter season, but will reopen March 1st. We use this time to rest a little, but mostly there's still a lot to do to get ready for SpRiNg!
The Loft is open year-round and we're welcoming guests who are looking for a warm cozy getaway in the midst of this cold weather. See you soon!

Farm Mail
Hello Dear Ones
~
I hope your
Thanksgiving was blessed and now your preparing your heart and home for a
wonderful Christmas. Every year, I
re-affirm with myself that it really can be the most wonderful time of the year,
we do not have to participate in the stress, and family times are going to be
special! So, I wish that for all of
us.
At the shop, we’ve
been having fun preparing for The Big Day.
Christmas Open House is Saturday, December 7, 10-5 and Sunday, December
8, 1-4. You’re going to love it!
We are excited to be
part of a food drive for needy families in the PORTA district…so, for
each non-perishable food item you bring, your name goes in a drawing for
a $50 gift card for The Farm or The Loft B&B. (6 items = 6 chances!) Bring them anytime from now til Open House
& we’ll have the drawing at the end of business on Sunday, Dec 8. Need not be present to
win.
I can’t believe it’s
time for this: last day for the year
will be Saturday, December 14th, which we call Closing House. Everything will be on
sale!
We wish you a very
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas Season
Yes, we're getting ready for Thanksgiving, but here's a sneak peak at Christmas! Pictures by Megan Adamski, our resident artist :)
Megan's beautiful upcycled vintage jewelry looks even prettier reflected in the mirror. We may have to try this at home. . .
Christmas Open House is December 7th! See you there :)

Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park
If you ever get a chance to go to the Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan, be sure to go. The gardens are beautiful, the sculptures are impressive. Look what they did with their pumpkins!
Hidden among the sweet potato vines. . .
. . . and pumpkins as mulch!
A few of the sculptures:
Beautiful bears enjoying the fall flower beds
of coleus, flax, zinnias, sweet potato vine, and mums.
Mad Mom--even tho she's unhappy, she makes you smile :)
And a few things reminiscent of The Farm!

Fall Open House at The Farm!
Well, it’s finally
arrived ~ our most favorite time of the year ~ FALL! One minute we were languishing in the
heat…and then all of a sudden, mayhem takes over the shop. (but it’s fun mayhem!) We are getting packed to the brim with
flowers, arrangements, wreaths, and best of all… pumpkins! Plain & decorated. Big & small. Common & exotic.
We hope to see you for
Fall Open House ~ Saturday October 5 (10-5) or Sunday October 6 (1-4). Besides our regular refreshments, you’ll be
happy to know that casual lunch will be served by Country Catering. Shannon Sisk has sold his famous cookies and
jams at The Farm for a couple of years, and he has catered events for us. (yummy!)
AND, we are having an
“Attic Sale” ~ You are sure to find some
bargains!
AND, maybe you should
also save the date for Christmas Open House.
That will happen December 7 & 8.
Ok ~ gotta go decorate
some more pumpkins!

August Update
Aren't these pretty?! Would love to see these sitting in a flower pot
surrounded by a ruffly skirt of fall pansies :)
And these Wild Woolies birdhouses have been flying out the door this summer! Each one is like a little whimsical artist studio that makes you want to smile and take one home for the birdies in your own backyard garden. Hand-made of sustainable materials in a Nepal fair trade production center.
And another type of house for the birds that really measures up :)
None of us can believe it's already August!
Back to school and State Fair time. . .
Pumpkins beginning to swell on the vines. . . .
Lots of guests at The Loft. . .
The wedding calendar is filling up nicely. . .
And this beautiful weather in the 80's? Well, we couldn't ask for more.
Hope you're enjoying your summer too. Come out to visit us soon!

Farm Mail
Greetings from The Farm…and how’s your summer
going? We are doing great here and
enjoying the cycles of rain, then heat, then mild. And so are the FLOWERS! Wow!
The garden looks better than it has in a long time and I believe the
harvest this year will be very nice.
The shop is packed with beautiful things for home,
patio, and garden. Like the fun glass
towers and flowers we’ve been making out of vintage glass treasures. Or original
art-work by Kate Worman-Becker. Or the
new mason jar pendant lights. And yes,
we’ve been bitten by the Burlap Bug!
Come see all the new finds!

Lighting Up
We are loving these new mason jar lights! They fit in perfectly with the rustic barn wedding trend that's so hot right now, but still they're so classic. Mason jars never go out of style :)
