Fall Open House at The Farm!

Well, it’s finally arrived ~ our most favorite time of the year ~ FALL!  One minute we were languishing in the heat…and then all of a sudden, mayhem takes over the shop.  (but it’s fun mayhem!)  We are getting packed to the brim with flowers, arrangements, wreaths, and best of all… pumpkins!  Plain & decorated.  Big & small.  Common & exotic.
We hope to see you for Fall Open House ~ Saturday October 5 (10-5) or Sunday October 6 (1-4).  Besides our regular refreshments, you’ll be happy to know that casual lunch will be served by Country Catering.  Shannon Sisk has sold his famous cookies and jams at The Farm for a couple of years, and he has catered events for us.  (yummy!)
AND, we are having an “Attic Sale” ~  You are sure to find some bargains!

AND, maybe you should also save the date for Christmas Open House.  That will happen December 7 & 8.

Ok ~ gotta go decorate some more pumpkins!

Spring Open House At The Farm!

Hello!  This is your friendly reminder that The Farm’s Spring Open House is coming up Saturday, May 4th (10-5) and Sunday, May 5th (1-4).  We’re not sure what the Weather Man will bring us…but then, are we ever?!  We’ve been working hard to fill the shop & greenhouse, so you’ll have lots to look at.  And treats to enjoy.   Maybe even find a Mother’s Day or Father’s Day gift.  Come on out for a fun weekend!

Christmas Open House At The Farm!

To our Friends ~
I hope this finds you well, and preparing your heart and home for the holidays ahead. In spite of some rough waters, we still have much to be thankful for. I pray God’s rich blessing on you all!
We are SO grateful that we get to go to work each day and have fun creating an incredible experience for you to do some holiday shopping! Last week, ‘Winter Woodland’ & ‘Christmas Past’ appeared. Tomorrow, we start on the ‘Enchanted Forest’.
We have gathered all Fall merchandise and marked it down, in case you need something for Thanksgiving. Of course, we’ll be enjoying that day with family, but the rest of the week, hours are the same.
Christmas Open House: Saturday Dec 1, 10-5 and Sunday Dec 2, 1-4.
Closing House: Saturday Dec 15, 10-5. This is the last day for the season, with most things on sale or clearance! We re-open March 1. Thanks for another great year!

Open House Report

Thank you to all our visitors who came out to our 2012 Spring Open House.  Lots of people, lots of animals, lots of flowers. . .  We had a ball!
Look at these adorable visitors!    Rick & Elizabeth Lord brought three of their beautiful alpacas  for Open House.  So fun to see them hanging out in the garden under the pergola drawing all kinds  of attention.   You can find out more about them on their facebook page at Timberview Alpacas.
Dawn and Gail from Native Acres (nativeacres.com) stopped by to show us how they harvest and spin angora.
Food, of course :) Featuring Halladay dip mixes and those delicate Shannon Berry cookies that we all love.
A full greenhouse with lots of bloomers. . .
Peony season.  One of our very favorites of the May garden.
Farm Gals:  Cheryl, Megan, Barb, Gail, Jean, and Betty.

And  a drawing for a free night at The Loft-- congratulations to Debi Iams!   Enjoy your stay :)

All in all, it was a bea-u-ti-ful Saturday at The Farm.  Come out to see us again soon!

Open House Scenes

Thanks so much to everybody for coming out to see us during our Open House last weekend.  We had a HuGe turnout!  So nice to see everybody.  The weather was gorgeous!

The Shannonberry jelly flew out the door, almost as fast as the decorated pie pumpkins :)
And the surprise feature of the weekend--a tour of The Loft, the newly opened bed-and-breakfast right here at The Farm! Yes, you can spend the night with us now :)
We love sharing this beautiful fall time of year with you.  Come out to see us again soon!

Spring Open House

That Cheryl, she can make a floral display out of anything vintage!  Thanks to everybody for visiting us during Open House on Mother's Day weekend.

The Halladay dip mixes were a hit as usual.  Some new flavors added to the line this year--thai curry (spicy!), creamy dijon, and chive blossom.  And we could not decide which of the sweet mixes was our favorite-- lemon-blueberry, strawberry cheesecake, or key lime--so we just kept sampling :)

Pick up a few mixes when you're out to see us next time--they make a quick, easy appetizer for those times you need a little something special to offer your family and guests.

Openhouse Report

Fabulous bleeding heart in the lover's garden.

Openhouse was wonderful! So many of you stopped by and it was great to see everybody.  You never know who you're going to run into-- friends who visit every season, friends bringing their friends, or  new friends who have driven across our central Illinois area just to see The Farm.  The shop was full of gardening questions, catching-up conversations,  and laughter . . .  lots of laughter!  It sounded like a party!
And with lemon poke cake and orange lemonade--well, yes, we'd say it was a party!

If you weren't here, be sure to make plans to come out this next Saturday for our first annual plant swap.   Always something going on at The Farm!
