Farm Mail

Greetings from The Farm…and how’s your summer going?  We are doing great here and enjoying the cycles of rain, then heat, then mild.  And so are the FLOWERS!  Wow!  The garden looks better than it has in a long time and I believe the harvest this year will be very nice.
The shop is packed with beautiful things for home, patio, and garden.  Like the fun glass towers and flowers we’ve been making out of vintage glass treasures. Or original art-work by Kate Worman-Becker.  Or the new mason jar pendant lights.  And yes, we’ve been bitten by the Burlap Bug!   Come see all the new finds!

Lighting Up

We are loving these new mason jar lights!  They fit in perfectly with the rustic barn wedding trend that's so hot right now, but still they're so classic.  Mason jars never go out of style :)

Spring 2013

Lately the weather has felt like March or April instead of late May!  But the chilly wet weather has given the pink dogwood and flowering almond extra staying power.  They've been  beautiful this year.
Are you still working on your containers for the season?  A few of us are a little behind schedule :)
One of Gail's tips for good containers is to add a layer of mulch to the soil.  It gives the container a finishing touch and it keeps in moisture during the hot summer days to come.
Hope you're enjoying spring in your garden too.  See you soon!

Spring Open House At The Farm!

Hello!  This is your friendly reminder that The Farm’s Spring Open House is coming up Saturday, May 4th (10-5) and Sunday, May 5th (1-4).  We’re not sure what the Weather Man will bring us…but then, are we ever?!  We’ve been working hard to fill the shop & greenhouse, so you’ll have lots to look at.  And treats to enjoy.   Maybe even find a Mother’s Day or Father’s Day gift.  Come on out for a fun weekend!

Farm Fresh Eggs

It was a beautiful Saturday at The Farm today.  The chickens were so happy!  They are fat and sassy and laying LoTs of eggs these days.  So next time you're visiting, don't forget to add eggs to your
basket :)

Farm Mail

Thursday, February 22, 2013

Hello out there! Well, they say there’s this big storm coming, so I thought it was the perfect day to stay at the house and send you an email. (I’ve secretly wished for a big snow-in, but when I say that, people look at me like I’m crazy!)

We’ve been having a ball at the shop: of course we’ve changed it all around, gave it a good cleaning, and deliveries come almost everyday. (It’s like Christmas, opening the boxes!) You’re gonna love what we’ve found!

I want to make sure you know that Opening Day is Friday, March 1 this year. We have a little something for the 1st 13 people of 2013. And then we’ll do something special on that Saturday too, for the folks who work.

Just come see us when you can ~ it’s been a long winter and we miss you!

Hellebores.  No worries--they're very happy, even in the snow :)

Sewing Saturday

You might think that things at The Farm are quiet during this winter season while the shop is closed, but we've been busy! Gail went shopping at market a few weeks ago, the plant order has been placed, the shop is swept clean and new displays are being planned, lots of guests are bed and breakfasting in The Loft. . . And  we also made some time for a little sewing with a lunch of chicken & noodles.
Cheryl got some fun new retro glasses.
We all wanted to know where she got them.
Barb's embroidery--Can you tell she has a grandbaby that she adores?
Knitting by Jean. . .
It was a fun morning at Gail's.  Great company, great food. . .
Looking forward to seeing you all March 1st!
